Drawing on ancient Medieval Magick,
this expression of the religious instinct
enables the practitioner to realize his own divinity.
Herein is discussed the common elements of
Magickal belief
and ritual that ties in with Man's union
within the cosmos.
Magick's intention is precisely to alter
the state of consciousness of the practitioner,
thereby allowing him to tap into vast reserves
of psychic or cosmic energy to fulfill his will.
Magick actually predates all known present
religions.
It is factual that various religious ceremonies
incorporate Magick within their liturgy.
The use of Magick is employed in some form
on a daily basis even without the awareness of such.
As it is in total harmony with Nature,
it would seem to be overlooked as actual
Magick.
For this very reason every human being shares
a
Magickal heritage.
What we know as Magick is a natural state
of mind,
a concept now largely substantiated by modern
psychology.
Simply stated,
Magick is the ability to effect change in
the material world through the power of the will.
It is to the genius and awareness of
those ancient magickians that we today must be grateful to for the interpretations that hold the Great Truth within.
The interest in Magickal practice has continued
to grow.
Fortunately now accompanied by a genuine
desire for knowledge of Nature and it's Laws.
As such,
Magick has become of valid importance in
the development of the human psyche.
Magick is not a belief of supernatural quality,
rather the understanding of all things natural
in accordance with the Cosmic Laws of the Universe.
All that is existant is a sanction of the
cosmos.
This phenomena occurs through the most natural
channels and in complete accordance to those immutable Laws.
Magickal practices have formed a basic portion
of Man's most basic ideals since we came into being.
Carl Jung,
the reknown psychologist,
recognized in Man a fourth instinct which
he termed the
"Religious Instinct".
Having absolutely no connection to what we
know as organized religion,
this instinct is the balancing force that
permits Man to control and direct his basic urges and define his personal relationship to the Universe.
This implies an awareness of a reality extending
beyond the physical world of the senses,
to one of the non-physical or spiritual plane.
Though this instinct exists solely on
the power of
Man's intuition,
it is and always has been undeniable that
such is existant and of the highest revelance to one's existence.
The proof being the results acheived on the
material plane.
Anything that can be accomplished by Magickal
rite is merely the employment of a conscious or even unconconscious application of the will.
Therefor any act of the will that results
in the fruition of a desire,
is in fact an act of Magick applied.
In essence it is to be duly noted that
the priority of the magickian is not to control others,
rather his own entire environment and life
experience.
Thus Magick is Life!
